Small Businesses to Shop With for National Dog Day

August 26 is National Dog Day! How are you celebrating? It’s not too late to pick up a nice present for your pooch and maybe a little something for yourself, too. Here are a few great small businesses to shop with in preparation for National Dog Day.

For the pups…

Based out of Miami, Poochie Woof Boutique carries everything you could possibly need to spoil your dog, from luxury toys to yummy treats. Full disclosure: This is one of my wonderful clients, but I’m not getting paid to say this and the sentiment still stands. They sell a lot of really cool stuff! I love all the “human-themed” toys like this Starbarks Muttchiato Toy

Located in Montgomery, Alabama, The Barkery sells doggy ice cream, treats, and more. You’ve gotta stop by and check them out if you’re local. If you’re really wanting to spoil your dog for National Dog Day, call The Barkery and schedule a  “spaw” day for them.

For Healthy Pets is another Montgomery-based store that sells all the food, treats, and supplies you’ll ever need to care for your sweet furry friend. They’re always running great deals. They also offer delivery if you’re local.

Pets by Jess is a UK-based Etsy shop that sells a wide variety of “pet portraiture, prints, pins, and more!” Their Organic Paw and Nose Balm for Dogs is the perfect handmade gift for pups with sensitive skin.

Annabelle’s Cookies is a Wyoming-based shop that sells handmade gourmet dog treats. They even sell handmade fleece toys!

If you know someone who’s celebrating National Dog Day with their new dog, you can’t go wrong with this sweet new puppy gift box from Sent With Care. This box has everything a pup and its new owner need, from toys and treats to waste bags and training pads. T + L Company is another Etsy shop that sells adorable new puppy gift boxes

For the humans…

Of course, you’ve gotta get the dog owners in your life something on National Dog Day, too. These pet parent gift boxes from Neon Cactus Gifts are perfect! Each box contains a dog-related mug, a bag of Grounds and Hounds organic coffee, a dog bracelet, an enamel pin, a dog treat, and a fun sticker or two. Neon Cactus Gifts also sells a ton of other gift boxes for all occasions.

This “My Dog and I Talk S*** About You” mug cracks me up, and I think it’s the perfect vessel to drink out of on National Dog Day. Cute But Rude sells a ton of tongue-in-cheek merch, and I’m here for all of it. Especially this painfully relatable “There is Probably Dog Hair in Here” mug.

I think this “Ask Me About My Dog” motel keychain from Sarah Jay Crafts is just so dang cute! I’m sure any dog owner can relate to the compulsion to share every detail about their precious dog to every single passing stranger… right? Anyway, this “Dog Mom AF” keychain is pretty cute, too.
